An audio-performance group founded in 2011 by the artists Julia Bünnagel, Patricia Köllges and Tamara Lorenz.
Sculptress of Sound – an audio-performative installation – is an interdisciplinary project founded in 2011 by the artists Julia Bünnagel, Patricia Köllges and Tamara Lorenz.
Focussing on different fields of visual arts they develop an installation-based music performance nourished by the specific experiences of each of the artist’s works.
Primarily it is more based upon the experimental layering of sound following a sculptural and installation-like approach than traditional music production. The self-made instruments (sound cubes) and stage elements create an audible room installation. The Sound cubes are complemented by traditional instruments (E-bass), voice and effect devices.
The surrounding for a live performance constructed in this way is built up of elements of sculpture, sound and light assembled to constantly new constellations. The architectural space is being considered and proved as a sounding box. Room and objects are made audible by the sound.
In different architectures Sulcptress of Sound invents a constantly new space and time specific construction of sound, light and sculptural elements.
